ARLAS OSM DATA EXPLORATION SESSION AT FOSDEM 2022

Every year, thousands of developers of free and open source software from all over the world gather at the event in Brussels. This year, the event will be exclusively virtual. Gisaïa will be in one of the FOSDEM 2022 devrooms where we will present ARLAS Exploration of OSM data for geospatial intelligence.
ARLAS Exploration is an open-source geo-analytic solution based on big-data technologies. It will help you to explore big volumes of spatio-temporal data through analytics and cartographic geo-analytic views. Since its inception, ARLAS Exploration is continuously updated to offer new functions with extended benefits. Currently in its nineteenth version, the ARLAS Framework is part of many location intelligence solutions for various sectors like; insurance, telecommunication, maritime data analytics, public transportation, Earth observation and others. By using ARLAS we will be able to answer easily and instantly questions such as:
How many OSM buildings are in the downloaded dataset? And how are they distributed geographically ?
What are the different existing types of buildings? With what proportions ?
When was this data created/edited and with what frequency ?
We will zoom in on Brussel’s OSM data because that is where FOSDEM usually takes place. But these analyses can be carried out on OSM data from anywhere in the world.
